MANEA EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION

It’s 2024 Grant Application Time

The Manea Educational Foundation offers grants for Manea Residents aged
16 - 25 towards the costs of educational advancement at institutions such as College,
University, and also Vocational training and online courses, applications for 2024 are now
invited.
Applicants will need to complete an application form along with supplying a separate
document from the course provider, on their letterhead and signed by an authorised
signatory, to include the details of the course, start date together with confirmation that
the applicant has attended the course since its commencement.
The completed application form and supporting document(s) must be returned to the
Foundation Secretary by the 16th October 2024 in order to be considered and will be
reviewed by Foundation members at their November meeting. All applicants will be
notified of the outcome after the Foundation meeting with those being successful
receiving a cheque shortly afterwards.
The value of the grant will be dependent on the number of applications received and funds
available which varies each year.

ALUMINIUM CAN RECYCLING PROJECT

Thank you to the growing number of people who have been collecting their Aluminium
Cans for this project and thanks to our neighbour and their grandchildren for using a can
crusher specifically purchased for this activity - it has saved me from a lot of work!
It is hoped that the crusher being made for this purpose will be finished shortly and it is
planned to hold ‘can crushing sessions’ in the British Legion car park when it’s available.
Thanks to the British Legion for allowing the use their car park for this activity. Please look
out for further information regarding dates and times on the Manea Facebook pages.
Please remember to ensure that all cans are washed as unwashed cans will affect what
monies can be received.
