MANEA MATTERS
MANEA MATTERS
o you enjoy writing but aren’t sure how to take it further? Thought of a good idea
for a short story but haven’t a clue what to do with it? Always wanted to write a
Dnovel but don’t know where to start? Fenland Writers might be just what you’re
looking for!
Fenland Writers was set up to give local writers a place to meet, talk about writing and
learn more about the craft. We get together regularly in March for activities, discussions,
support and encouragement, and writers of all genres are welcome.
Each session begins with a chance to practise writing to a prompt. We then take a look at a
particular writing development topic, such as worldbuilding, creating believable characters
and writing compelling scenes. We keep it informal and friendly, with the emphasis on
enjoyment, inspiration and mutual support. There’s plenty of opportunity to share your
writing, but no one is obliged to.
You don’t need any experience to join, nor do you need to be aiming for publication. You just
need to enjoy writing and be keen to improve your skills.
We meet twice a month – once in the evening and once in the afternoon. There are currently
spaces at both groups, and your first meeting is free. Come along and have a try!
