      ALUMINIUM CAN RECYCLING PROJECT

Thanks to all the can collectors the first
consignment, one big dumpy bag full
of crushed cans, was recently taken to
a recycling centre by Chris Bartram, to
whom I am very grateful for doing this
without charge, and the sum of £15.60
was received. 30p per kilogram was paid
representing a weight of 52Kg (equivalent
      to two sacks of potatoes!).
The sum received would have been
significantly higher had the two and a
half bags not been stolen last year from
      where they had been stored!
In line with the project objective to ensure
all monies raised are given for the benefit
of our younger village members the
money has been given to the Girl Guides
      from whom acknowledgement of receipt
      has been received.
We now know the rough value of a similar
sized load but need to widen the number Another 2.5kg collected and
of people who have joined the project now crushed!
