WALKING GROUP
he Walking Group started in
September 2019 with just 2 people
Tand myself. Over Christmas and
the New year, the weather was bad and
the paths were very muddy and still only
2 people came. I tried to make the walk
interesting by going to March and Ely but I
couldn’t get any more people to join us.
Then in March 2020 we were hit by the
Covid Pandemic. This meant that the weekly
walks in Manea were cancelled until further
notice!
On Saturday 7th May 2022,
11 of us took part in the
Manea 5K - walking not running!
• More recently, we’ve walked parts
Restrictions eased on 12th April 2021 and of the Doddington Circular Walk and
Woodmans Way in Wimblington.

great news and I put a post on the Manea On Saturday 7th May 2022, 11 of us took
Facebook pages and we had our first walk part in the Manea 5K - walking not running!

people met me by the bench opposite I enjoy planning the walks and going to
the school for a leisurely walk around the different places. I hope that more people in
village finishing with a cuppa at Café No29! the future will join us. See P7 for where we
meet and my contact details.
By the end of May our numbers had gone up
to 9 and since then we have regularly had Linda Rayman
8 – 10 people each week and sometimes
even more!
As well as walking round the roads and
footpaths of Manea we have completed:
• The Town and Riverside Trail in March.
• The Signs and Plaques Trail in Ely.
• The Town Trails in Wisbech and
Whittlesey.
• Littleport and Ely Country Park.
