Our New Skate Park
Having given final approval to proceed with the project at our Parish Council Meeting in January the
construction of our new skate park is well underway. Community engagement was an important
part of the design process as we know that that the skate park is popular with all ages. The final
design was produced from the feedback of over 150 surveys and includes something for everyone,
whatever their level of experience.

Progress has been really impressive. The kick-off meeting was
held on site on January 21st and the contractors begin setting
up their site compound two days later. Our old equipment
disappeared within a few days…

Fast forward a couple of weeks and despite the best efforts of
Storms Ciara and Dennis things are really starting to take shape.
The bowl area is almost complete and most of the ramps in the
middle section have been constructed. The middle of the park is
designed to give a street style challenge to all types of wheels.
The begginer secion near the MUGA is perfect for scooter riders
in training and the fast section nearest the football pitches will
keep our more experienced riders entertained.

Based on the current rate of progress the construction
could be completed in as little as six weeks. It’s really
exciting to see the site developing and we think the
new park will be a fantastic asset for our village.
