the cancer returning before the vaccine
starts to take effect. Every three months
we are faced with a tense and worrying
time of awaiting results after an MRI scan,
not knowing if the tumour has returned.
Despite being faced with challenges of deep
vein thrombosis two days before flying to
Germany, we made it to the Cegat Clinic in
Tubingen at the end of April for Chris’s first
four vaccinations. We will be attending the
clinic in Germany next month for vaccine
As many of you are aware my husband
Chris Brooks, aged 36, was diagnosed with
a Grade 4 Astrocytoma Brain Tumour in
June last year. Myself, family, friends, local
businesses and clubs have all been fund-
raising for a personalised cancer vaccine
which is only available in Germany.
We will soon be approaching a year since
Chris’s diagnosis on 16th June 2022 when
our world was shattered into tiny pieces
and we were left to face this cruel disease,
which comes with a devastating prognosis
of 12-18 months.
We feel privileged to live in such a
wonderful and caring community. number 5 out of 14 in
total. The vaccines are
given every 4-6 weeks.
