MANEA
HERITAGE TRUST
A number of Manea residents gathered in the Village Hall on Monday 10th Febru-
ary to discuss the need to safeguard and maintain ‘Tilley’, the original village
manual fire appliance, which was purchased by public donation in the late 1830s
/1840s.
It was agreed to form a Trust, called the “Manea Heritage Trust”, for this purpose
and seek charitable status.
A key objective of the Trust will be to preserve Tilley and find a place within the
village where it can be on permanent display.
Although supported by the Parish Council, this Trust is separate from the Parish
Council and is run by village residents on behalf of the community of Manea.
Further details to follow once the Trust has had time to establish itself.
